My Favorite Blog
There are thousands if not millions of blogs out there.  Most of these are just personal diaries, but some are quite informative and useful.  The blog that I read the most has to be Scott Kelby’s Photoshop Insider.  He usually has some excellent photography tips, and the blog is entertaining.  Scott Kelby has also authored the one book that I keep beside me and my computer when I am working with Photoshop – The Adobe Photoshop CS4 Book for Digital Photographers.  This is a fantastic book for beginners to Photoshop as it assumes you know next to nothing.

Photograph
I took this photograph while on safari to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area with some great friends from Fort Smith, Arkansas.  We had seen a couple of big male lions sleeping close to the road earlier in the day.  As the day drew to a close, we thought we would go have one more last look.  As we approached the area, both lions were getting upping and walking towards the road.  We parked and this one plopped down right beside our vehicle.  It was an amazing experience.

For this shot, I used Nik Effects amazing new plugin software called Vivesa.  With this software you can make adjustments to specific areas and colors without the use of all of the complicated masks in Photoshop.  In particular for this photograph, it really brought out the color in the eyes.  Very soon, they are coming out with Vivesa 2 which will allow you to also make global adjustments.
